About Us

Gearbox Records is an independent record label founded in 2009 and based in London and Tokyo. With a strong vinyl-led ethos, Gearbox by extension includes an analogue cutting and mastering studio situated in King’s Cross. The label’s dual output includes previously-unreleased historic recordings and pioneering new music by contemporary artists; you might come across forgotten treasures by Thelonious Monk, Don Cherry, Tubby Hayes, and Nico as well recent material by Binker and Moses, Sarathy Korwar, Theon Cross, Dwight Trible, and Abdullah Ibrahim.
